The FEU Public Policy Center (FPPC), supported by The Asia Foundation’s YouthLed Program, is expanding the College Experience Survey (CES) to better evaluate the impact of the country’s tertiary education system on student development. The CES, a longstanding initiative with over 37,910 student responses, provides crucial insights into traits, opinions, school satisfaction, career motivation, and other key aspects of student life.
This expansion, aligned with YouthLed’s objectives, aims to enhance our understanding of civic engagement among Filipino youth and the broader impacts of higher education. By widening the respondent base, the CES will build a more comprehensive database and facilitate the broader dissemination of findings while fostering dialogue and collaboration in advancing civic education and youth participation in democratic governance.
In line with this, the CES Partner Schools Launch held last 27 August 2024 at the Far Eastern University – Manila Campus gathered and welcomed different colleges and universities to discuss implementation details and share strategies for our 2024 round.
During the launch, FPPC President Dr. Michael Alba — immediate past FEU President — discussed the history and importance of the CES. Also present from the FPPC during the event as speakers were Executive Director Julia Andrea Abad, Program Manager Arjay Mercado, CES Project Manager Ruzzel Brian Mallari, Research Coordinator Kier Jesse Ballar, and Partner School Coordinator Danella Bianca Bona.
Dr. Lisa Grace Bersales, Undersecretary and Executive Director of the Commission on Population and Development — who also serves as part of the CES 2024 Steering Committee — was also in attendance, along with Markus San Gabriel, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of our partner, The Asia Foundation.
