On 15 August 2024, the UP President Edgardo J. Angara (UPPEJA) Fellows presented their studies in a conference co-organized by the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2) and UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS).
The FEU Public Policy Center (FPPC) presented the study entitled ‘Economic Regulation in Philippine Higher Education,’ with UPPEJA Fellow Dr. Michael Alba as principal investigator. Dr. Alba is the immediate past President of the Far Eastern University and the current President of the FPPC Board of Trustees. During the event, he was represented by Data Analyst Thea Basilio, Budget Technical Consultant Zy-za Nadine Suzara, and Higher Education Technical Consultant Atty. Carmelita Yadao-Sison.
The findings were presented to a panel composed of Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara, EDCOM 2 Co-Chairpersons Senator Win Gatchalian and Rep. Roman Romulo, Commissioner Rep. Kiko Benitez, EDCOM 2 Executive Director Dr. Karol Mark Yee, UP CIDS Executive Director Dr. Rosalie Arcala Hall, and the members of the advisory council and standing committees.
